Teenage Development Wheel
For parents/carers of teenagers (12 to 19 years), the Teenage Development Wheel is a compact, interactive child development tool that helps guide your family through the adolescent years. Written by childcare practitioners at Harrow Council, it features eight easy-reference sections covering positive contributions, economic well-being, and tips for supporting teenagers as they mature.

Supporting Teenagers with the Practical and Portable Teenage Development Wheel
The teenage years can be both exciting and challenging. The Teenage Development Wheel bridges the gap between childhood and adulthood, offering a rotating reference guide for parents, carers, and even the teenagers themselves. It covers the age range of 12 to 19 years, building on our existing Development Wheels™ collection.
Created by practitioners at Harrow Council, this circular resource is divided into eight sections. On one side, you’ll find what your teenager “might or should” be able to do at a certain age, along with suggestions for positive contributions and guidance towards economic well-being. Simply twist the wheel to access each year’s relevant tips. On the reverse side, parents and carers gain insights into practical strategies to help teenagers develop confidence, independence, and crucial life skills as they transition to adulthood.
The Teenage Development Wheel measures approximately 230mm in diameter, making it easy to carry and refer to on the go. Like our other interactive child development resources, it features expert-written content that reflects real-life parenting experiences.
