Maths in the Early Years Development Wheel
An information guide that will help children develop their learning about maths.
Split into nine sections easy to use wheel twists around to reveal the section you need and has information on each side.
Learning about maths and at an early age happens both indoors and outdoors. This unique tool covers babies' early awareness of shape, space and measures offering ideas for everyday activities that will develop their sensory awareness and opportunities to observe objects and their movements from an early age. The wheel then builds through the age related sections to the last section covering four to five years of age when children are then counting and recognising some numerals.
The back sections of the wheel show how practitioners, teachers, parents and carers can help development through help and ideas based around numbers and shape, space and measures.
Like our other wheels, this simple to use tool measures approx 230mm in diameter (so they are easy to carry around) and all of the information contained within it was written by early years Maths specialist and author, Judith Stevens, to ensure that it will meet the needs of professionals and parents, carers and families.
